Cement Design
As an coating brand passionate about creating innovative surface materials, Cement Design has consistently collaborated with designers to discover distinctive materials, colours, and textures, assisting them in skillfully integrating these elements into the spaces.

A while ago, Cement Design received a special inquiry. The inquiry came from an architectural design firm with a long-standing collaboration with the brand. As pioneers in the industry, they are known not only for their acclaimed works but also for their continuous focus on natural ecological health and sustainable development of the planet. The material sent to Cement Design's material laboratory this time consisted of granules made from recycled plastic panels, which were developed independently by the firm's team. These granules showcased various shades from white to deep blue. This color range easily led people to associate these recycled plastics with disposable plastic bottle caps, a notion that was later confirmed by the designers.

Subsequently, the designers planned to place a dining table made from recycled plastic panels in the new project's café area. To complement the table's colour and texture, the designers hoped that Cement Design could incorporate the granules of recycled plastic into the coating material. Skilled craftsmen from the brand would then apply this material extensively to the walls of the space. The scattered blue plastic granules would form a connection between the dining table and the walls, creating a more harmonious overall atmosphere in the space.

After determining the desired presentation effect of the plastic granules, the next step was to decide on the colour of the coating material itself. Perhaps there was already a clear vision in mind, as the designers didn't take much time to decide on a light gray with a hint of blue as the base colour. This choice could effectively incorporate and merge the blue of the plastic with the overall gray tone of the space.

Next came the creation of the sample, which was completed by Cement Design's skilled craftsmen in the material laboratory. When the designers received the sample, they were pleasantly surprised by the final result. The recycled plastic blended seamlessly with the coating material, and the distribution of the granules was well-balanced. Particularly noteworthy was the thin layer of cement on top of each granule, which softened the saturation of the plastic blue, giving it a more understated and gentle appearance

Cement Design
Cement Design is not only looking forward to continuing to develop intriguing material textures with the firm mentioned in the article but also welcomes more creative designers, architects, and creators to reach out to us. Together, we can explore the limitless possibilities of materials.
